Call For Action From A Survivor Of Human Trafficking (Yes, It Happens To Men)

Ronny Marty, who’s from the Dominican Republic, came to the U.S. with the promise of a job. He ended up living in a tiny apartment with three men, with most of his earnings going back to his employer.

“I was supposed to work in a hotel, but they said they only had jobs in a DVD manufacturing company. I didn’t have any other options, because I had borrowed so much money to pay the $4,000 I needed to come here.

[The five of us working together] were making so little money because of all the deductions. They were deducting for visa extensions, housing, transportation to move us from Kansas City to Huntsville. They put three of us in a one-bedroom apartment with three tiny beds and made us each pay the employer $300 a month. But the employer was only paying $400 a month for the apartment. They told us if we left, they would call immigration and we’d be sent back home. They told us we needed them to extend our work visas to stay legally. They told us they knew where our families lived and they’d go after them.”

Someone Like You

We had a lot of chaos at work today and I worked through lunch so I left early, which was good because I had some stops to make and a friend called me and asked if I wanted to get together anyway.  I stopped at the library and picked up some movies for the weekend, and then my friend came over and we had a very deep psychic evening talking about childhood traumas and past lives and how awful and stupid this world is.  Nothing in this idiotic world will ever actually make sense.  It’s all about people being puppets of higher dimensions, being put through their paces in the goofy obstacle course of life and then pulled out, probably when everything gets too interesting.

After we talked, though, I taught him how to play Magic: The Gathering and that was very exciting. We realized that it had been almost exactly a year since I did an amazing reading for him last Halloween and that holiday is coming up again in a few days.

The pressure’s on, however, I’ve got to get past diary blogging and into hardcore astrology.  I’ll compromise tonight and talk about how Brian and I have several videos for our YouTube channel and it’s up to me now to read my books on the subject and put them up.  I was going to write about my friend’s astrological issues, the ones we discussed before we played MTG, but that’s kind of an invasion of privacy.  However writing this has made me realize the best practice now is just to check the astrological aspects for each day and blog about them, so that’s what I’m going to try to do from now on.

I just checked a website and it looks like the moon is going from Virgo to LIbra, which makes sense with all the extra work I did today.  So there’s a start, I wrote about an actual aspect.  I actually have a twitter account I’m following that posts aspects hour by hour, so that’s cool.  And just to begin my usefulness in earnest, below is a link to a page that gives astrological aspects for each day.

Tomorrow I begin blogging about astrological aspects in earnest.
