Some pleasant Buffynicities this evening,
Buffynicity #1: Following on the Wonder Woman references yesterday, Cassandra appears to Willow and reminds her that she has the strength of an Amazon, which is what the inhabitants of Wonder Woman’s home island of Themiscyra are called (I think).
Buffynicity #2: The big one of the evening, for the last couple of days I’ve been listening to “Sweet Thing” by David Bowie, remembering Jody from high school, and how we taked about the climactic line,
“We’ll buy some drugs and watch a band
and jump in the river holding hands.”
And all it means about suicide, and I was thinking about possibly having Jennifer commit suicide in the Darkening, and then in tonight’s episode Dawn tries to commit suicide.
Buffynicity #3: Last night we were having a cookout in the back yard, and we were all sitting around talking about anthropology. I came upstairs to look for a native hammer that I have, a piece of stone that was flattened along one side hundreds of years ago when someone used it for pounding or grinding. At first I couldn’t find it so I scoured the bottom drawer of the table I use as an altar and found a ton of paraphernalia I haven’t seen in years, including a round, black bowl which looked exactly like the bowl that Dawn threw at the malevolent spirit at the climax of her spell in tonight’s episode.
Right after that Dawn’s mother appeared so I wonder if I’ll see some benevolent spirits tonight?
As for transits, today went pretty well. I am feeling on top of things, loving my new car and the fact that I’ve got all my paperwork done, and also last night I stayed up late enough to get a lot of cleaning done and update my planner. And yesterday I got my new car chargers in the mail so I can keep my phone playing music while I’m in the car and use my tablet for directions without worrying, which just makes me feel like I rule the world becuase I can plug my phone into my car speakers and rock out. I have been cranking Fields of the Nephilim and Sisters of Mercy all day. The only downside was that I gained a few pounds this morning from the massive cookout we had, but that I can deal with.
I stopped to go shopping after work and also tried to get a haircut but there was a long wait. I got home around seven, right before Mercury entered Leo. I’m still trying to figure out what that feels like but I think my immersion in goth music today has something to do with it. I’m just loving this music so much, feeling so comfortable with it, and also feeling very confident that The Darkening is going to be amazing. At the same time I feel more “fixed”, like there’s less static happening. I’m looking forward to meeting Raymond Moody this weekend, the pioneer of reincarnation and hypnosis.
The Moon trined Neptune again tonight and I was feeling quite confident. Specifically I feel that The Darkening is helping me break free of the psychic influence of the entertainment industry, and get a clearer image of Saint Germain and my angels. Mercury in Leo is giving this a more stable quality so I’m not going to rave about it so much; I just feel very self-contained like I can finally banish the evil from my life and quite possibly do the quality of readings for clients that I’ve wanted all this time.
The Moon squared Jupiter while I was running. I was having some decent Buffynicities but I was also feeling a little detached. There were lots of gags about going back to high school in the episode tonight and I was thinking about how lame my high school was and how there’s nothing worth looking back on – what a total waste of time that was! What a total waste of time most of those people were! I’m sure they feel the same way. So I think that was the square.
I’m wondering now how much energy I should put into blogging about what is going on, versus how much I should put into The Darkening. I think I’ll look at tomorrow’s aspects and then read a chapter of Wuthering Heights, and then work on The Darkening.
Tomorrow I’ll probably sleep through the early morning stuff and then there won’t be any transits until the Moon inconjuncts Mars and conjuncts Saturn in the evening. I think this will be my first day downtown without a Pluto aspect, or one of the first. I’m expecting the Mars inconjunct to be a little exciting but the Saturn conjunct will hopefully be deep, possibly some deep writing or an experience of time, or both.
The Moon is in Sagittarius so I’m lazy as usual. It enters Capricorn on Friday. This should be interesting because the last time the moon was in Capricorn all went well until right before it moved on to Aquarius – when my car got hit. We’ll see how it goes. I do have some cool stuff planned, like seeing West Side Story at the Music Box on Sunday, and possibly hitting the new Chi! Ka! Go! that night – the sun is opposing Pluto at 8:35. Would that be good for a party, or would it be good for avoiding a party? I always get insights about society and collective experience from Pluto … we’ll have to see.
Here come the late summer conventions, Flashback and Wizard. I’ll start working on predictions for those presently. Right now I’m off to work on The Darkening.
