1:32 PM 6/4/2017 I’m hearing “Pain” by Four Star Mary from the Buffy TVS soundtrack in my head a lot. I had several Buffynicities yesterday but I’m afraid I forgot a lot of them. I’ve been very lazy about writing this weekend although I got a lot done in other ways, including catching up on some comics.
Buffynicity #1: Yesterday afternoon before I watched Buffy I was reading two old comics from 2015, “Nameless” by Grant Morrison and “The Discipline” by Peter Milligan. In “Nameless” they open magic gates by playing music on instruments that look like whistles or flutes. In the episode one of the three geeks summons some demons by playing on a flute.
Buffynicity #2: In “The Discipline” the “council” spies on this girl and messes up her life and that’s what the geeks do to Buffy. Also there’s a “stalker” in that comic. This one may not be so strong as it’s a very common plot, but it’s still interesting.
Buffynicity #3: I’ve got all these characters on my mind so much that yesterday I decided to clear off one of my shelves and make a kind of city of figures representing them. I decided that one of the main pieces would be a figure of Mickey Mouse dressed as a pirate that I have. During the episode, Xander was dressed as a pirate for Halloween and Willow was talking about Mickey Mouse, joking about Fantasia and sweeping the floor.
Buffynicity #4: Out of the blue I was thinking about Timothy Dalton yesterday. I often think of his movies, “Lion and Winter” and “Flash Gordon” (1980), however yesterday I was thinking of him specifically, and about his portrayal of James Bond, and then the geeks in the episode were arguing about all the various Bonds. Then this morning I was at Jewel Osco and “The World is Not Enough” was on the television in the dining area.
Buffynicity #5: I was also thinking about Charlie’s Angels yesterday. I have Farrah’s famous poster on my wall, just like I did in third grade, but since I wrote a couple of days ago that I can now see all three of my angels at the same time, I was thinking yesterday about the actual show and then during the episode Anya was dressed as a “CharlY” angel for Halloween.
Buffynicity #6: I had been thinking about the Dead Parrot Sketch from Monty Python and there were references to it when Buffy was struggling with the mummy hand. There was also what I thought was a kind of reference to or resonance with “Evil Dead 2” in the episode. In that movie Bruce Campbell has a hilarious scene when his hand becomes possessed and attacks him. The whole scene is shown in “fast-forward” and in this episode of Buffy there’s a disembodied hand that attacks her and time also gets sped up for her.
So that’s several things I was definitely thinking about that showed up in the episode. I’m a little disappointed that they’re non-falsifiable, not proof of anything since anyone could simply say that I made them up, but the sheer number of them is reassuring.
Picking up with transits where I left off, Friday after work the Moon opposed Chiron and squared Mars, and I got some good stuff, and I went to the library to contest this ticket I got on Thursday. My registration expired on the last day of May and even though I ordered a new tag it hadn’t come yet and so I stopped at the library to get online and request a “hearing”, submitting my receipt as evidence. It was an interesting process and I think it was related to the void of course moon that lasted unitl the Moon entered Libra at 7 PM. Now, if my hearing nullifies the ticket I’ll know it was really related to the VOC. Still it was interesting to deal with the government that way, clicking a few buttons on a website to deal with this transaction.
This is the first Friday night I’ve had free since the intnsive ran for two months. I was working on my heptalogy and listening to new music. I was probably still awake on Saturday morning when Venus conjuncted Uranus. I was getting a lot of work done on models and cleaning up my comic book collection.
I fell asleep and when I got up I went to Tracie’s. Back at home I continued to work on models and on cleaning. The Sun trining Jupiter felt great, like I’m really crossing the line to the spirit contact I’ve always wanted, and throwing off the chains of my evil, disgusting family. There may even be some cool ancestors somewhere helping me recover.
I went to run and I had all the amazing Buffynicities I listed above. I’m really finding Anya adorable these days. Buffy’s issues with the heaven realm she left behind and not relating to her friends are very relevant to me and I look forward to seeing how that works out. Maybe I’ll get a clue.
Then I went to a group ritual that really knocked me out. Luna conjuncted Jupiter, trined the Sun, and inconjuncted Neptune during and after and I had a really groundbreaking perception of the spirit world in three dimensions. I’m finally gettting the stability I need in these perceptions so that I can have decent personal boundaries instead of the watery, semi-delusional daydreams I used to be stuck with. I am beginning to get at the scheme of things that allows all these different, contradictory spiritual traditions to exist side by side. I also had one of the clearest perceptions of Jesus I’ve ever had, and gained a much better sense of who he is and what he wants.
Mercury inconjunct Saturn threw up a little resistance, made me feel that the key to deeper perceptions is keeping secrets. This morning I was awake when the Moon squared Pluto. I was feeling very accepted in the world, like my spirits are arranging everything for me. I went to Tracie’s but I was back at home when the Sun squared Neptune and Mars entered Cancer. I really feel like I’m getting something out of this. I have a new spirit guide today. Mars in Cancer makes me feel focused and complete, like I can narrow my perceptions down to my own business and straighten my life out. Sun squaring Neptune brings all the great hardcore Neptune telepathy. Neptune never lets me down. I’m going to go to Edgewater now with my new guide and figure out what I want to say about her.
8:10 PM 6/4/2017 The Moon is sextiling Saturn in just a few minutes, and I’ve been to Edgewater with my new guide and then I went to run. Just one major Buffynicity with this one,
Buffynicity #7: On the El on the way back from Edgewater I saw a guy wearing a Harry Houdini t-shirt. It was for some movie or concept album about Harry Houdini. And then in the episode I watched Dawn snuck off with a friend and Spike had this line:
SPIKE: No, it’s okay, Giles was by here earlier looking for you. Dawn and her little friend pulled a Houdini. Up to a bit of candy-corn mischief, I suspect.
This reminds me of another weekend a while back when I saw a t-shirt on the El that was referenced in the episode.
So now I’m allowing the complex of feelings I have about Buffy to wash over me. The peak of Buffynicities was when Joyce died on the same day Chris Cornell’s suicide was announced. Then the memory-trips of Buffy and Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 came during the same week. That was big, falsifiable stuff – now with the beginning of season 6 I’m back to little, non-falsifiable ones, but a whole lot of them so there’s a regularity to it. Also, I have this new guide who may be an old one with a different face, but I don’t know and I don’t want to talk about them just yet. However I am seeing that writing about these coincidences is a step toward being a professional intuitive. I have to get used to saying things about the world flat out, giving other people a chance to disagree with them. But now I’m writing from the midst of a “Chiron” mood, listing to “Ballad for Dead Friends”.
But this is nice, even though it’s a bit of slow going to write this tonight, even though I’m not in the greatest mood, I realize now that my new guide is going to bring an emotional focus to my blog, a sense of emotional focus. I’m going to call her Tara, because i feel now that her appearance was announced last week when I threw my phone on my bed and the flashlight went on, and then in the episode I watched a couple of hours later Tara sent a bright pinpoint of light through the forest to find Willow. Tara is also a buddha of compassion, and there is a “Green Tara”, and this reminds me of “Gamora” from Guardians of the Galaxy. So Tara it is.
Tara brings me an acceptance of my exit from this plane of existence. I had a rotten family and really, when you come down to it, I was born into a rotten country, it’s no fun here and everyone is boring and stupid so I’m going to be very happy to leave and this afternoon at Edgewater I felt the reality of that. I could just see myself as separate from this world, from this crummy species, and I could just see myself leaving this place some day and not having to care about it at all. Tara is the “mother of liberation”, and I guess I’m getting liberated.
I feel pretty real.
9:56 PM 6/4/2017 “Pain” by Four Star Mary is a key song on the Buffy soundtrack. As I’m writing I’m working with Tara to organize the emotional tone that will probably work best for me in terms of how I present myself to people.
Right now the confusion for me is, who is Tara? Is she someone I’ve been working with, or is she someone new? Her appearance definitely represents a turning point, because I can’t go back to the meandering catalogue of events that this blog has been. She is present as a distinct personality and she is bringing me into focus. The act of imagination inolved here is shifting.
12:38 AM 6/5/2017
So now I’ve wound up staying awake, maybe a little too late, until just after the Moon inconjuncted Mercury and opposed Uranus. It makes sense. I got a lot of stuff organized, I’m making big breakthroughs in my life. I still have to think about Tara though. I have this “new” guide who’s bringing me a lot of clarity but also throwing me into a big conflict with the way I have been doing things. I’m staying up late cleaning and catching up with things but I’m also making my morning a bit uncomfortable by missing sleep. I feel like I’m on the verge of a big breakthrough but also that I’m going to have to give up something major to get it. I’m just going to make some predictions:
Moon trining Mars at 6:51, I should feel pretty good. I am loving Mars in Cancer. Mars in Gemini sucked and Mars in Cancer is going to kick ass. Mercury sextiling Chiron tomorrow night will be a big deal because “Pain” and “Ballad for Dead Friends” from the Buffy TVS soundtrack are giving me ideas about useful things to do with my story.
Venus entering Taurus and Mercury entering Gemini on Tuesday are going to be a big deal and I’m going to look on tomorrow as a day to work with Tara to get ready for some revelation on that day.
